For some time now, we've known that most of the major monitor manufacturers are planning to dump their 16:10 aspect ratio widescreen models in favour of the 16:9 standard commonly seen in HDTVs.
In fact, it's expected to be an extremely rapid transition. Several brands have already announced their intention to migrate the majority of their PC monitors to 16:9 by the end of 2009.
